nATHAN STEPHENS (appointed to the board in 2026)

 

Nathan brings more than 20 years of experience in Paralympic and disability sport, spanning grassroots participation through to elite performance.

As an athlete, he represented Great Britain at three Paralympic Games: taking to the ice at the age of 17 in the sport of para ice hockey at the 2006 Winter Paralympics in Turin, and then athletics at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, and the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. He also flew the flag for Wales at the 2018 Commonwealth Games as a powerlifter.

After retiring from competition, Nathan moved into coaching, supporting athletes to achieve medal success at European, World, and Paralympic level.

He is now Head of Performance Development at Disability Sport Wales, where he leads the strategic growth of para performance pathway programmes to ensure they thrive and contribute to Welsh and Great Britain pathways. He also serves as the strategic lead for the development of Boccia across Wales.
