Matt Berry joined Boccia UK’s first ever Talent Transition Squad in 2023. A familiar face on the domestic circuit, Matt became England’s National BC3 Champion in 2023. He also became UK Champion in 2023, triumphing over Will Arnott in a close final.

But he has also excelled internationally, winning gold at the 2017 Tatra Cup, beating the 2020 Paralympic Champion Adam Peska.

On court, his ramp assistant is his Mum, Sue. Matt discovered boccia when he moved to secondary school and was introduced to the sport by a disability sports coach.

He loves boccia because “it’s a game of skills and tactics”. Away from the court though, he is a keen Arsenal fan. He also enjoys volunteering for charities, supporting them with graphic design projects. He also has a degree in engineering from Portsmouth University.
