Meet the rest of our board members…

He joined the board in 2019 and has a background in the military and charity sector and as an independent consultant.

He served for 26 years as an Army officer, deployed on operations across the world and served in a number of demanding headquarters appointments in the Ministry of Defence, including being in the operations directorate at the time of the 9/11 attacks in New York and throughout the development of the UK strategic response.  In 2008 he was seriously wounded while commanding the UK Battle Group in Musa Qaleh and 4 years of reconstructive surgery and rehabilitation followed that ended with his medical discharge. 

On leaving the Army he joined Help for Heroes as their first Director of Recovery and was responsible for developing the vision for their Recovery Services and turning it into an operational reality.  He founded and, until Sep 2018, chaired the Contact Group, which brings together multiple stakeholders to improve the mental health care and support available to service personnel, veterans and their families.  He was also Team Director of the UK Invictus Games Team for the first 3 Invictus Games, was a member of the UK Invictus Games Delegation Partnership Board and Chairman of Selectors. He now runs his own consultancy advising other nations on developing the national recovery services, is a keynote speaker on leadership and overcoming adversity, advises on leadership, developing high performing teams and strategy development and implementation and is an executive coach and mentor and is co-founder of Worldmaker International, which works to support people around the world to live in strong and resilient communities.

He is President of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, is a member of the Advisory Board of Try for Change, the Rugby Football Union’s charity, is Secretary of the Casevac Club and has a number of advisory roles with charitable organisations. 

Aside from this he tries to keep fit, is a season ticket holder at Bath Rugby and enjoys taking part in the occasional triathlon.
