Gavin has served as Chief Executive Officer of Scottish Disability Sport since 2003. He is also a Trustee of UK Sports Association.

Before he took the reins of Scottish Disability Sport, he worked for Sport Scotland as Youth Development Manager for Disability Sport.

Gavin has also worked at local authority level in England, as a sports development officer.

He has a BA (Hons) Degree in Sport Studies from Sheffield Polytechnic, a PGCE (Further Education) from Nottingham Trent University and a Diploma in Community Education from Dundee College of Education.
