Meet the rest of the Talent Transition Squad

Nicola has progressed quickly in the sport of boccia, having only discovered the sport in 2023.

And her career couldn’t be in better hands as she is coached by two-time Paralympian Evie Edwards-Hill.

Nicola first tried out the sport after spotting an advert for a training session with Boccia England. Hooked from her first throw, Nicola’s talent was spotted by Evie.

She went along to her first competition – a Boccia England Heathcoat Cup – in February 2024 and won gold in the mixed BC1/2 Team event. And since then, she has reached the podium at the Boccia England national championships qualifiers and won silver at the UK National Championships:

Nicola is not just charting success for herself. Together with Evie, she has set up a boccia club to introduce others to the sport.
